Design work on the website of a philosophy magazine

Philosophie Magazine ties philosophy to the news of the day. I contributed to the design of its website, where long essays and daily pieces share a front page.

What the front page has to do

A philosophy magazine online faces two demands at once. It should be calm enough for a long essay and quick enough for today’s article, and the front page has to hold both.

My part

I contributed to the design: typography, hierarchy and the front page layout. A reader sees straight away what is new, what deserves a slower read, and what the current issue contains.

How the work went

I worked next to the magazine’s own team. Requests came one by one, I returned designs, and we repeated that until the pages felt right.
