Building an EU tariff lookup on my own

hscode.info is my own project. It lists every EU tariff number with its duties and trade measures in English, German and French, and I designed, built and grew it myself.

Why I made it

Importers, customs brokers and online shops need the right tariff number for each product and the duty attached to it. The official EU tools are awkward to search and hard to read. I wanted a quick, free place to look a code up, so I made one.

What I built

All of it: design, code and SEO. Search matches a code by number or by description while you type, and pressing F opens it from any page.

Every tariff number has its own page. It shows import duties and trade measures by country, the legal base and the start date. No database sits behind the site. During the build, it converts the EU’s monthly TARIC export into small static files, which keeps pages fast and the data up to date.

The site runs in English, German and French, with one snapshot for each year from 2023 to 2026. That adds up to over 22,000 code pages per language and year, and I built each one to rank.

Since launch

hscode.info has been online since 2023 and runs on Cloudflare Workers. It belongs to me, so it is where I test search and SEO ideas before I recommend them to anyone else.
